How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Firstly Crimsons Eye is based particularly around the theme of a grotty and infected eye. We have adapted the opening scene to for it to represent into different social groups. One of our influences was film ‘The Unborn’ as it shares similar and relevant aspects to what our opening sequence consisted off. For example in The Unborn – ‘Casey and her friend Romy are in the locker room talking when Romy notices that one of Casey's eyes is weird.’
This had relevance to our opening sequence as our protagonist rushes through the door wearing bold sunglasses; covering her face which gives off suspicion to viewers. We later find out that it is her eye which is in actual fact infected. These images both share a close up image of the eye. The first appearance that we get of the protagonist is very similar as both are wearing very simple, casual clothing. This deters the audience from what they are wearing to what is actually happening. Casey from ‘The Unborn’ is wearing jeans converses and a plain white t-shirt and Crimson from ‘Crimson’s Eye’ is dressed is a beige long sleeve top with a skirt and tights. This reveals that both characters portray their role very similar and
